Ingredients:
- 0.75 tsp ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp paprika
- .25 tsp cayenne pepper
- .25 teaspoon ground tumeric
- 1 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 + 1/3 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup whole roasted cashews
- 1 yellow onion diced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 garlic cloves finely minced
- 1/2 inch ginger grated on a micro plane
- 1 cup broth or water
- 1 pint cooked chick peas drained and rinsed
Steps:
- Make a splice blend of the cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, tumeric, and garam masala
- Make cashew cream by blending 2 cups cold water with 3/4 cup cashews
- Sweat the onion for 5-10 minutes till transluscent
- Add the garlic cloves, ginger and tomtato paste and cook for another minute or two
- Add (*** SOME AMOUNT *** of the spice blend, maybe half), and cook for 30s
- deglaze with 1 cup broth or water
- add chick peas
- add enough cashew cream to cover. Consider adding more as it cooks. ( NOTE HOW MUCH CASHEW CREAM WAS USED)
