Steps:

  1. cook bacon in a little bit of oil
  2. stir until fat renders and bacon is slight browned 3-5 minutes
  3. add onion to bacon and cook until soft 5 minutes more
  4. Add celery and garlic and cook 1 minute more
  5. add clam juice, chiken broth, potato, and some pepper
  6. simmer until potatoes are almost tender 12 - 15 minutes
  7. Stir cream into potato mixture and simmer a few more minutes until potatoes are completely tender.
  8. Add clams and heat through.

Notes:

Overall this was too thin. It wasn't bad, but definitely not great.
