Ingredients:
- 1 lb onions
- 4.5 oz carrot chunks
- 1 lb beef cut into 1/2 inch cubes
- 5 oz potatos (1/2 inch cubes)
- 800 ml water
- 1/4 cabbage finely chopped
- salt
- 1/2 package golden curry mix
Steps:
- cube the beef into 1/2 inch chunks
- salt the beef generously
- Heat dutch oven over 8/10 heat
- sear the beef, and remove to a pan
- reduce heat to 2/10, add onion, stir to deglaze
- after a few minutes when onions are starting to clear up add a touch of water to deglaze the rest
- add rest of water, carrots and re-add the beef.
- cook for ~an hour until the beef is nearly fork tender
- (this is when to start the rice) add the potato and cook for ~20 more minutes until the potatoes are tender
- add the cabbage and the curry mix and reduce until desired thickness
