Ingredients:
- 2 cups prepared tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp dried bread crumbs
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp powdered garlic
- 1/4 tsp dried parsely
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- 1/8 tsp dried oregano
- 1/8 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Steps:
- bring sauce to a simmer over low heat (probably with some extra water)
- Preheat the oven's broiler and set the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and brush lightly with oil.
- Whisk bread crumbs, water, egg, Italian herb seasoning, olive oil, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes in a bowl to form a thick slurry.
- mix beef, black pepper, and salt with the slurry.
- Scoop into 12 small meatballs
- bake meatballs under the broiler for 4-5 minutes
- Rotate meatbals and broil 3-4 more minutes
- add meatballs to sauce and simmer for 5 - 10 minutes
